Homemade popcorn is a relatively healthy and tasty treat you can make at home. Try experimenting with different oils like coconut or sunflower and flavours by sprinkling with some of the following: Desiccated coconut, maple syrup or honey, cinnamon, vanilla, Icing sugar, Melted chocolate and even our healthy Kale Crumb.
To make popcorn, you’ll need a large heavy pan with a tight-fitting lid.
HEAT the pan with a little oil, and then add 3 or 4 corn kernels, cover and heat.
WHEN the kernels pop, the oil is ready, now add the rest of the corn kernels in an even layer, cover and heat.
ONCE the popping starts in earnest gently shake the pan by moving it back and forth over the heat.
WHEN the popping sound dies out, remove the pan from the heat and carefully remove the lid.
PLACE the popcorn immediately into a wide bowl and sprinkle with your choice of topping.
