Fresh Apples and Plums Puree with a natural fruit drink is such a versatile recipe for the whole family. For baby to enjoy just as it is, natural. For the family try adding some chopped nuts or yoghurt. The steamed water is flavoured with the cooked fruit creating natural fruit juices which you can dilute with water for your baby.  Brilliant to encourage them to drink fluids when they are feeling under the weather!

Ingredients

To buy:

4 apples

4 red plums

½ lemon

1 cup water

METHOD

KEEP the skin on your fruit , the layer under the skin holds a lot of the nutrients of the fruit

QUARTER the apples then core them.

CUT you plums in half and remove the stones.

COAT all the fruit with the lemon juice. The lemon stops them going brown and brings out the flavours of the fruit!

ADD all the fruit to a steamer and put a cup of water in the base.

TURN on a medium to low heat to allow the fruit to steam for about 15 mins

CHECK every 5 mins that there is still water in the bottom of the pan to ensure the fruit doesn’t burn adding a little extra if necessary.

SERVE the fruit reserving the cooking water in a separate container. This natural fruit juice you can dilute with water for your baby to drink.

BLITZ the strained fruit with a handheld blender
