No Butter Brownies

These no butter brownies use apple sauce as a substitute.  There are deliciously soft and moist and make you feel less guilty about eating a sweet treat with no butter.

Serves: 9 brownies

Ingredients

To buy:

 

25g cocoa powder

100g brown sugar

130g apple sauce

150g chocolate chips

Store-cupboard essentials:

100g plain flour

1 tsp baking powder

pinch of fine salt

1 medium egg

1 tsp vanilla extract

butter or oil to grease

 

METHOD

PREHEAT the oven to 180C/350F.

GREESE a 20cm square baking tray with a little butter or oil

PLACE all the ingredients into a large bowl and mix together until well combined

SCRAPE the mixture into the prepared baking tray.

BAKE for 15-20 mins and leave to cool for 5 mins before serving.
